George Wright (1920-1998) was a spectacularly-talented popular organist, featured on NBC radio, at the San Francisco Fox and New York Paramount Theatres, on millions of records (primarily on the HIFI and DOT labels), in live concert performances, and heard on "General Hospital" for thirteen years. Except for his seven years in New York City (1944-1951), George lived in California.
His fascinating life is now chronicled in a three-volume scholarly biography, spanning some 1500 pages of text and images: 1) The Genius of George Wright (available on Amazon.com) 2) George Wright--Reflections Of His Life (available on Amazon.com) 3) George Writes--The Letters of America's Premier Popular Organist, George Wright (ONLY available on this website!) |
